Hi I am Valentina and come from Grado, Italy. I am 15 years old and was born in Vienna. I am a positive, open minded, atheltic and determined girl, who is very eager to get to know new people from all over the world and to go on adventures. I have applied to this YEP Community for various reasons but I am most willing to get to know new people that think and share the same opinion and passion towards nature and the environment as I do. I am also very eager to participate to these amazing explorations because I really want to LEARN more, I want to HELP and go on adventures helping the environment by having FUN! It is great because we all have a chance to show who we are and how much we care. I speak 4 languages: French, Italian, English and German. I visit Greece every year and really hope to learn it more fluently soon:D I attend an International School since 11 years and am very enthusiastic on learning about different cultures and traditions and getting to know people from all over the world. I also believe that PEOPLE are what bring you closest to a place when you travel, because it is only when you accept differences that you are really traveling and discovering a new place. Living it, enjoying it, feeling it. I am very interested in these projects because I have always participated to more private ways to help the planet and am ready to meet new people and making a difference working as a team. This would really be an experience of a lifetime and I believe in it. I believe that these projects have the potential to change and help nature and humanity. I know that when these youngsters come back from these expeditions, they view the world in a different way and life changes completely after these expeditions. I personally want to share this feeling with all you guys, the feeling of strength, teamwork and character building. The feeling that nothing can stop us we are confident and sure of our actions and decisions. I think these programs are a school OF LIFE :D I am very interested in animals and nature and really like to do sport and go on adventures. I really like the beach, I love the warmth and like going windsurfing or canoeing, my dream is to learn how to surf. In winter I really enjoy skiing, I like going into the forests with my friends and find a little route where we can ski through and simply enjoy the silence and the fresh smell. It is great :D I ride, and was also into competitions, but now I prefer doing it for fun. It is a sport that taught me many things and I grew a great passion for it. I also play tennis after school, and love it too. I also think that sport is something crucial in a person's life, because it is was keep a person balanced in each way. Sport also teaches people how to loose, which is a very important aspect people must learn in life. As a hobby and when I travel I like taking pictures because it captures a moment and brings back many emotions and feelings. We must all accept what nature and Earth is offering us and we must preserve nature and spread the news to future generations. Traveling is the key and if you have your mind set on something and believe in it, then you will reach it, because dreams are what make up a part of our big journey: OUR LIFE.
