Here is the group where you can find & post some info on the area where the Yep 9th Expedition will take place – Nunavut, Canada .

In the Arctic summer of 2011 ( 1 – 21 August ) Mike Horn and a new group of young explorers will head off for a trip of a lifetime to the Nunavut region of Canada in an effort to discover the Inuit culture and their dependence on nature.

During his previous expeditions to the Arctic, Mike Horn experienced how Global warming affects the Arctic. The Young Explorers are to be witness of these changes and to communicate their experiences with the rest of the world.

The Objective of the 9th Young Explorer Expedition will be:

- Explore and gain first hand experience and knowledge of the Nunavut region, its people and its wildlife.

- Learn through hands-on research and specialists form the University of Munich about the Nunavut Ecosystem and find solutions for environmental issues that are affecting the region today.

- Act by communicating, and supporting environmental protection of the Nunavut region.

So let us explore the region of Nunavut. Nunavut, meaning "our land", is defined by its people and places. It is an arctic territory, bringing up visions of vast space and endless skies, wide plains of tundra, ice-capped mountains, wildlife within lands and seas, and rich cultural traditions that are still in strong practice today.
