As you can see I spent a lot of time with animals. Specially with fish and during the last months with reptiles too. I was already asked many times what I'm exactly doing and why I'm so good with aquariums and fish and why I'm so interested the wild life and evolution by different species.
So this letter from Prague will be about my freetime activities with animals.
Already from my childhood my grandma and father got me interested in breeding fish. In New Zealand my grandma owned many tanks with different types of fish and plant species and my father gave me much advice.
He as a documentary filmmaker and made me interested in Nature and saving the beauty of our world too.
When I was already 4 years old I owned my first aquarium with live bearing fish (Poecila)
I watched many documentary films and I watched them so much that my cousins talked about me that I'm already a Biologist.
Soon in the school I already read many books about breeding fish and soon I owned many small aquariums where I bred many species of live bearing but I never tried until now to breed egg laying fish.
In the time I started to learn more about plants and the way they grow.
My parent were surprised how my aquatic plants do well.
Then I dreamed with my friend to look after reptiles and cactuses.
Once I had an accident and had to spent a lot of time in hospital so I read many books
about reptiles like turtles, snakes and geckos.
In Germany on a friend's farm I had a Husky dog and a parrot. One day we found in cold winter a crippled raven. We saved his life but he can´t fly like other ravens but he has a good life
When I was in school again I founded a special freetime club ,,aquaristic,, in the biology station Nový Smíchov and there I spent lot of time cleaning huge aquariums with many fish like Piranas Arawanas Cichlidae and Skalaras. It was a good time and I made a good friendship with a boy named Matej(19). He helped me then in the future and I´m very happy about It and don't worry I will tell you about it soon.
The head of the aquaristic department decided to close the club and I left the biology station.
Matej called me that he bought the department himself and that he wants to make his own aquaristic department and he wanted that I will join it and be his assistant. But I didn't have time because of the training program in floorball.
Many things changed this year. After leaving the Floorball club I suddenly had too much free time. I spent more time with my fish and in this year I made improved my skills.
After saving the school aquarium (see my first letter from Prague) I was asked if I could lead the Environment club and so I decided to help and to teach young students how to care about the plants and fish.
After I becoming leader of the environment group the aquarium improved. I enjoy working with the kids and their interest has grown very much and the number of kids in the group is now double!
And I try to share with them my experiences.
Now I can see how much the interest in many of these kids has grown.
They cooperative more frequently and they are quite curious about future lessons.
I talked with the headmistress and we contracted that in the next school year if my learning program will be popular she will buy a big aquarium which would be placed in the entry hall of our school
I decided to find Matej and I found him! He still owns the aquaristic department and tries to keep it in function.
So I asked if I could help him by cleaning those 10000 litres of aquariums and now every Sunday I go in the morning to the station with Matej and his two friends and we are working with the tanks.
Matej owns a professional station for breeding chameleons and many turtles and some snakes.
So I go there sometimes and help him out and next time I will take my camera with me and I will try to share with you some pictures.
He gave me a recommendation about a good reptile club which is led by his good friend.
Every Wednesday after school I work 2 hours with other very talented and more experienced boys with various reptiles.
Last time we gave them vitamins. It was sometimes quite dangerous.
Someone was bitten but not by our Cayman crocodile. He is in the station from the communist period and so we call him communist crocodile-Komouzský krokodíl.
I found two friends. One is an expert in reptiles and porpoises and David is an expert in feline predators. I'm very curious about our next visit to the Zoo
I'm looking forward to work little bit in our Prague Zoo which is across the river from my house.
So let see how the situation will develop.
I'm planning to breed a special snake species from Mexico
I'm looking for the equipment and soon I will have my first snake at home.
I have long and very colourful experience with reptiles but I never took care about them for a longer time.
So that's the end of my story about my relationship to animals.
Do you have a relationship with some special sort of animal too?
Which one? Have you tried to breed it? Tell me and we can discus about it!

I think you did a really great job - it´s one of the best after school activities on out school. Its really very interesting to listen to you, because you told us so many information about fish, that i ve havent known before. Its really great that you can talk about your hobby with other people - and not only talk but also teach them a lot of things instead.
And its really great that you love animals so much! I ve only one dog and one catt at home, but im tring to be with them as much time as i can and im also tring to teach them some trick :)))) but unfortunately the only cool trick that my dog can, is to sit down. :D
