I still cannot believe how YEP has changed my life! All I can say is : YEP is there for all of us to join hands and work together and have lots of fun at the same time – if you are serious about YEP and its future, get active, start projects, meet up with other YEPs and you will experience incredible results of working together as a team!
This past month has been full of hectic YEP Explore, Learn,Act activities with lots of fun, laughter, presentations, acts and travelling during West2Wild Project & Haga Haga Project! I also had German YEP Leni Gruendl staying with us for a couple of weeks and introduced her to life in Cape Town.
Tomorrow I am fortunate to leave on another YEP Pangaea Project Patagonia Expedition to join 9 other international YEPs in Argentina where we are going to explore the Patagonian Ice Fields with no other than Mike Horn as our expedition leader :D
We are planning on giving a presentation in Buenos Aires, travel to El Calafate & visit the Glaciarium to learn from the expert Pedro Skvarca, Do excursions to Upsala glacier, Valle de los Fosiles + museum and visit the petrified woods of La Leona. Thereafter exploring the Perito Moreno glacier for a couple of days , do some more presentatitions before another 8-day expedition into the South Patagonian Ice Field from El Chalten.
I am very excited to visit all these different kinds of glaciers and to compare the effects of climate change on these glaciers versus the ones we explored while on the Nunuvat Expedition! We have all been doing research on the topic and studied workbooks prepared for us. Off course we also had to train to be able to cope with the harsh conditions we will be facing while on the expedition. Going from daily temperatures in Cape Town of 35+degrees to glacier climates will be interesting , but I am sure all the gear & clothes I got for the Arctic Nunavut expedition will do the trick ;)
Returning to BA, I hope to explore the culture of this lively city and will be staying with my fellow Nunavut Selection camp yep – Paula Meloni :D
So what I am trying to say is: YEP is amazing! Don’t just sit back and wait for things to happen… there is a whole YEP world out there to discover and become a part of - get off your bums in front of the pc and get active!
Cheers from sunny South Africa
Henko

PS I am looking forward to reading about all your new YEP projects when I return !

I know most YEPs are physically active, but i think YEP community members can be a LOT more ACTive with starting, joining or supporting the official YEP projects. YEP is so much more than just the online community - the real fun starts when you join a team of YEPs with ACT projects!1 pointachaa wrote 131 Days Ago (neutral) 0Although Ihave'nt participate in any really YEP events, I feel like YE , because I know some you ;) and it's a pleasure to know such amazing peolple;)
