Today is Spring Day here in sunny South Africa and we're THRILLED!! The first of September is always a happy day for us, but this was the happiest yet! Normally Spring day is misty and cold and downright dreary, but today the sky was crystal clear, the blue almost hurting you eyes, the sun was soft and warm, just begging you to enjoy it and the flowers! They were practically screaming at you to smell them. Everything was as it should be.
You see, here in South Africa, we don't really deal all too well with cold. There are some, like me, who prefer the winter, but man, this was a looong and coooold winter! Truly, one of the colder winters I've experienced, and it just never seemed to end...until today!! Yesterday I was still studying under the covers, but today I just had to sieze the day (as much as one can in exam time) and I studied outside in the sunshine. Smelling the sizzling chops of impromtu Springday braais and listening to the jubalant chatter that only a sunny day (and perhaps a Tri-Nations rugby trophee) can bring. It made having to study seem...bearable! Everywhere I looked people were smiling, wearing flowers in their hair, even being a bit more generous, giving their change to the beggar, just because you can't be sour on a day like today.
It's amazing how a perfect day can brighten your spirits. There's nothing else like it!

Nice Spring day blog. The only bad thing about Spring in South Africa is that it goes hand in hand with exams! I'm also from South Africa and live in Johannesburg. This year is my gap year after matric , so I didn't have to write any exams. Will be a different story next year when I'm at university,
Stay well and enjoy the Spring weather.0 pointsAnonymous wrote 992 Days Ago (neutral) 0spring is great!!!! we've got autumn ALMOST hahah1 pointmichelle_n wrote 993 Days Ago (neutral) 0Haha, and in Switzerland the autumn just begins.... but I was having a great day today too, the sun shone and I went hiking upon a mountain :-)
I completely agree with you that when the day is perfect even studying isn't that hard. When I had learning holidays this spring I always learned outside and when the wheather wasn't as I wished I couldn't learn very efficient! It's very interesting how the wheather influences us!
I wish you a wonderful spring and summer :-)2 points
