I'm sitting in my room, thinking that I will next sleep in my bed in 3 weeks. I'm about to embark on an adventure of a lifetime to selection camp!

After 5 weeks of physical training, research for the Amazon and contacting media I am so excited that today I will board the plane.

But hang on.. selection camp in only in a week! Yes but I was lucky enough to have my ticket extended which enables me to see my mates and family in Geneva for a week! How awesome is that!

I am so thankful for the help of everyone in getting me this far! Thank you to all the young explorers who sent nice encouraging messages and all my friends who helped me organise everything.

For those applying for Africa, I'm not even at selection camp yet but I know these past 5 weeks have been so awesome preparing for it ... apply guys! Don't be afraid! It's the chance of a lifetime. Some of you might have school or other commitments that but this experience is so worth it.. it's school of life! And if you don't get selected this time, don't worry and most importantly don't let anyone put down your idealism or your determination because they are the qualities that create change.
