Gorongosa is a game reserve, found in central Mozambique. It was once a magnificent game reserve full of wild life. The first shots of the civil war were fired here and sadly, the animals bare the scares of the war. The statistics of the animals that were killed in the war are horrendous. Pouching is still a huge problem. There is a restoration program to restore Gorongosa to its former, splendor beauty.

National geographic has just completed a documentary called Africa’s Lost Eden. I have been fortunate enough to visit Gorongosa twice and can truly say that this is a very special place and well worth visiting and supporting. I hope that you will be inspired to get there sometime in your life. It truly is Africa’s Lost Eden!

Some 4 years ago, I was in Namibia and, through some European volunteers we met there, could visit a bushman project in the North of the country. There, a village was built with a school and a big kitchen, creating many work places. Men and women were educated in making crafts, but also working in and around the village.0 pointsSmiley11 wrote 652 Days Ago (neutral) 0Great website. I think also, that this is really sad.0 points
