Hi everybody out there! I'm really glad I can be a part of this fantastic community and get to know as many young adventurers as possible! So, as to my person, I've been living in Switzerland ever since I was born but am a "half and half" Japanese-Italian. I lived in Australia when I was seven years old and got to know the Down Under way of life. I'm in my last year of high school and will graduate in June 2010 (finally)! For my post-graduation life, I've applied for a triple major in social anthropology, environmental sciences and Hindi (involves my key fields of interest, environment, sciences, people, cultures, India and foreign languages). A while ago, I "defined" pilgrimage as my life-task (although 'defining' seems to be a bit harsh of a word). Globe-trotting's been a part of my life from my early years on; my parents would take me with them wherever they'd have to go to, for as long they had to go. I'm so sure, that having made these experiences with distant cultures has influenced me strongly in my development and in my view on life. That is why I enjoy traveling HOME in terms of Yann Arthus B. and being active with different NGOs from the bottom of my heart. Hiking (quite lucky we've got the alps right at our doorstep), cycling and jogging belong to my favorite activities as well. Oh, and if you start talking to me about ecology, sustainability and environmental protection, bear in mind that THAT conversation might take a tiny little bit longer... ;) My day to day life is constantly accompanied by the attentiveness for the environment and for what impact my actions have on our natural environment. I have a great passion for photography and love taking pictures with my SLR, especially when I'm outdoors (currently I'm thinking about getting myself a video camera). I believe photographs have a unique capacity of transmitting atmosphere, and emotions which I appreciate a lot. Movies, in my opinion, have a similar trait. - there's little that beats a good documentary in the evening of a rainy day! My great dream is to see life. To get to know our beautiful planet in all its beauty and variety. A childhood dream of mine was to become a whale protector, to defend animals' rights in general, too. As a small girl, I would go ringing the bells of random houses and sell WWF posting labels for the protection of lemurs in Madagascar. Being active with WWF, Greenpeace are two concrete examples of my environmental activism.
So let's get it rollin'! and get together to achieve amazing things! Group dynamics shouldn't be underestimated!
TEAM = Together Everyone Achieves More
