My name is Lukas and I am from Germany. I am studying environmental sciences in germanys oldest city Trier. In my leisure times I do some sports like kayaking, caving, trekking and playing volleyball, but my passion is applied to sailing. I also like photography and playing Billiard.

The power of Nature impresses me; I am fascinated by the extremes like the deserts, the oceans, storms and all kind of hazardous, natural phenomena. I experienced natures mercilessness on Svalbard during the arctic winter, but also saw breathtaking northern lights. This fine line between beauty and death reminds me that Nature can´t be controlled. I am sure that the earth will survive us humans, but I don’t think that we can stay alive on a planet we are destroying that much. That’s why we should put our entire endeavour into the protection of Nature, to ensure that we all can survive on this planet. I think that this project really can change something in the minds of people, so that they get more involved in environmental protection. It is not just for Nature itself, it is for humankind too!
