Each one of us has his own goals – but one goal unites us all and that is our goal together to stop the threat of destroying the beauty of our earth. We have a tough job to do but with patience, courage and a good heart and by working together we can hope to save what is left of Nature and give future generations a valuable gift. We do not want to wait – we want to act. We are the hope for a better life. My name is Simon Havas and I was born in New Zeland. I´m a Czech pupil at the Czech-German Gymnasium (Deutsche Schule in Prag). I speak good German, Czech and quite good English. My hobbies: I do a lot of sport- cycling, canoing, mountain hiking, light athletics, inline, jogging, skiing. Last year I played for the best Czech Floorball team - Tatran Stresovice (Like ice hockey but in a normal hall) and maybe I will play it again in the next year! My hobbies: from my grandmother in New Zealand I got interested in breeding fish and even before I went to school I was breeding livebearers. Because I want to be a documentary filmmaker like my father I want to develop my talents in this way. Other hobbies: for several years I was a member of the Botanical Station in Smichov, Prague where we looked after many large aquariums and I learned a lot there about fish. I like building models, reading, photographing, meeting with my friends and going with them outdoors. I spent lot of time with a vodácká organization. Voda is water in Czech. This is an organisation which organises canoe trips and other things. Its name is Suchá Noha (Dry Foot). We are a quite big group between 100 members and we often go in small groups (about 20 people) on outdoor trips. Sometimes on bikes and sometimes only by foot. For me these are like small expeditions. Joining Nature for 18 days and forgetting civilisation and trying to live without unnecessary modern inventions. To overcome with success the main Czech river the Vltava (Moldau in German) you need lots of teamwork, courage and of course warm socks. I was surprised very pleasantly that in the world live so many people for whom the luxury of our society is not so important and much more I am also surprised that in spite of differences in our nations we can work together and make our dreams come true! I wish everyone from Yep.mikehorn good luck!
A year ago I have been with Mike Horn on the malaysian expedition and it was the most exciting experience.
