To describe myself I want to start off with a little story
:
I’m doing strength training every week with a friend of mine, and the evening when the picture below was taken, we went to this special location ,because of the astonishing view over Suttgart.
So we saw this cross and minutes later we were discussing about if it’s possible to climb up there.
After some debating we decided to try it out, we flipped a coin and I should be the one to start.
So with my heart beating I began, one step after another, just concentrating on the metal bar in front of me. Then I got to the horizontal part of the cross and had to calm myself before doing the last part, the final climp-up. Now standing there, cold wind around me, the cross began to swing forwards and backwards. You can simply imagine how my adrenalin-level grew up with nothing below my shoes than half a foot of iron. After a while it got calm and I had the awesome feeling of been able to do something which nobody ever does before!
Despite all warnings and doubts and my own fear I was standing there free, above my town, enjoying the view and crying out the victory over my fears !
I think that is it what makes life livable, overcoming fears, mind barriers and everything which stops us from being the best we can and using our talents to act for a better world !
That’s something I learned from my sport Parkour, and that sport teaches me way more, watch my video to learn more about the best sport ever!
But I’m not only an adrenalin junky, as you would call it, I’m curious about learning new things, I try to experience as much as I can in my short life. I would describe myself as open-minded and enthusiastic aswell, and I’m able to enthuse others.
For example I’m very good at physics and are attending the selection process for the German team for the International Physics Olympiad 2012 ( currently there are still 15 persons in, but only 5 of us will actually be chosen ), and therefore I am crazy about physics especially phenomena in our everyday life, like:
Do you know why our sky is blue? Or why the sunset is red?
I often ask my mates whether they know why. The great majority doesn’t and so I explain it to them in such a way, that sometimes they are even more fascinated about that phenomenon, our world and about the correlation of everything than I.
The correlation of everything, not only in science even in our world and our nature fascinated me since I learned about the climate change.
When Industrialization began, who thought that this sometimes would endanger our climate and our world? Maybe it’s the same for our modern world aswell!
Are we aware about all correlations of our actions, ourselves destroying nature, exploiting our beautiful planet? Or are we causing a even more dangerous threat than the climate change??
We simply don’t know. And we will have to learn a lot more about our world to understand even a small part of it! That’s my second passion, exploring, learning and doing researches about correlations between human interference and nature. That’s why I will study “Renewable Energies” in combination with “Physics” in two years, after I have finished school and done a volunteer year abroad, probably in India.
I love just hanging out with friends while training outside and listen to the noises around us like singing birds. I am a jolly guy, not taking everything serious and laughing in a lot situations in which others wouldn’t.
For example I was late to school and had to drive there by bike. I had just left when it began to rain. At first I felt like: “Oh no, not now!” But then I realized that it’s quite fun to bike trough the rain with speed and feel the cold rain drops falling on your skin.
The rest about myself only in short form, otherwise you’ll maybe get tired of reading:
I’m voluntarily leading an “environment course” at our schools, teaching younger peoples about the problems in our world, and what everyone of us can do to protect our nature.
And I’m sharing my passion for Parkour, doing free beginner workshops ever month with my association “Parkour Stuttgart” ( www.parkour-stuttgart.de )
My hobbies beside parkour are:
• Méthode Naturelle (climbing/swimming/balancing…),
• being in a CVJM scout group
• playing the alto and tenor saxophone in a jazz-band and two orchestras
• doing strength training and climbing up trees just to sit there enjoying the view
• cycling
• hiking
• skiing currently attending the courses to become a skiing teacher
• snowboarding
• This year I began to practice snowkiting , and Krav Maga
=> That seems awfully lot, and in fact it is, unfortunately most of my week is full of this activities and have not as much free time as I wish to, but it’s fun and so I’ll keep going.

Congrats on making it to Selection Camp!!! I was just reading your profile and its really cool, Parkour sounds super hard! I read that you're really into physics, I myself was considering pursuing it as an undergraduate degree as its a solid foundation for any physical science. But now I've decided for Earth and Planetary Science. Combines both my passions, astronomy and nature!! Talk soon!
